lyrics

Had hoped the sun would never set
On extraneous wonders of a promise unkept
A stalemate between reason and derision
If only one could hold the two together
One last look at all its been
Between faith and vacuous spirit
Rest the demons it has seen

Speaking long lost dialects
Of godless creeds and vows
Demanding to be listened
All they could do is drown

Bow down to none, condemn the crowned
Remember just how much blood was drawn
For authoritarian drones and ruthless clowns

Centuries subdued, most acclimatized
Broken and busted, but civilized
Devoid from fresh air
Once merely specks, now the spearhead of the changing waves

Carelessly, abundantly clear
Abandonment, the precursor of their fear

Generations, millions taught to play along
the Macabre ways to demonstrate how life’s foregone
Muddled footsteps, felt by many, stay unseen (specially)
If you look the other way, forever a mystery
So much is ground to dust but it’s in our nature
Between those drunk in gold and those seeking true perception

No kind of fair-ness
From higher powers
The divine, the kingly
Both empty, but tireless

The weaker, subdued for the better of many
While all are blindfolded
No peeking
Shan’t try it

We must embrace
The new second coming
Though third time it’s the charm
And no one keeps counting

What shows our fears
Reflects a struggle deep inside
Politics, apologies
To nonsense pay no mind

Although tiny worlds perdure much less
An empire across the stars is hardly build to last
However great, nothing saved it from collapse

No rule is timeless
Breeding treacherous offspring
Bearing the weight of oblivious upswings
That failed to sway its very subjects

Children of sand, slaves of the flame
Fictitious banners made to tame
Our raging cry, our might and will
For king and country made to kill

Maybe fate is
Saving us from much worse
Freedom is a luxury for most, yeah
No one dares rip their goggles when
The issue is rooted deep within
And so personal, it singes
The sky is falling
Our leaders are shaking
The onslaught’s unfolding
Can anyone tell me what is to be expected
Of us when adopting this new way of thinking

May the chosen one among us be best
Slay the judge and jury, redeem us from their behest
Turn the table, rip the strings down from the skies
Set the maker's throne on fire, the one who’s three, who we despise
And when the puppeteer’s dead
We shall embrace this-worldliness

The ocean only knows
What wills the way of most
The whims of its tide
So the enchanting glide
No religion no provost

Damned be their contrived opinions
Washing fault with frail excuse
Casualties high in the billions
Of judgement tainted and obtuse

Cutting down on every resource
Basking in frugality
Beating on the lighthouse windows
Dying for a chance to see

Across the sea their call unanswered
The prancer laughs in vanity
The gleam undying in the distance
It feasts on their morality

Astounded by this change of heart
The waves themselves are pulled apart
To run through pits and valleys unseen
And stay the course right to the start

The spire
Beyond where the waves conspire
